Temperature Requirements for Greenhouse Crops
Temperature and Daily Light Integral (DLI)
Plant species differ in both the minimum and maximum acceptable light levels. The minimum and maximum ranges can be altered by temperature. Cool temperatures will allow plants to be grown at lower light levels, while the minimum light levels are higher at warm temperatures. Similarly, high temperatures can limit the amount of light that “cool” crops can absorb. For example, lobelia and fuchsia tolerate full sunlight if the temperatures are moderate, but require shade when temperatures are warmer.
